On July 4-5, 2023, the Nong Han Excellence Center at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University organized a workshop titled “Study and Compilation of Bird Species and Defining Resource Management Boundaries for Ecotourism Development in the Nong Han Area, Sakon Nakhon Province.” The event was held in the Student Council Conference Room, Building 20, at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University.

Attendees included faculty members, researchers from Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, representatives from target communities around Nong Han, state and civic network partners, totaling 60 participants.
The workshop focused on studying and compiling bird species in the Nong Han area, as well as defining natural resource management boundaries to promote bird ecotourism in the region. The initiative was supported by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), the Biodiversity Development and Sustainable Watershed Promotion Association (BDSPA), and the Sakon Nakhon Bird Conservation Club.
The event aimed to enhance Nong Han’s biodiversity and establish it as a significant ecotourism destination in Sakon Nakhon Province. This collaborative effort fosters inclusive participation, creating concrete frameworks and mechanisms for sustainable resource management and ecotourism development.
