Announcement of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University Energy and Environmental Conservation Policy
Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, an agency under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, possesses a controlled building as designated by the Royal Decree on Controlled Buildings B.E. 2538 (1995). Consequently, the university is obliged to comply with the Energy Conservation Promotion Act (No. 2) B.E. 2550 (2007) and must implement an Energy and Environmental Management System to reduce energy costs. The university recognizes the critical importance of energy and environmental conservation, which is a vital foundation for the nation’s sustainable development. Therefore, the university establishes this Energy and Environmental Conservation Policy as a guideline for its operations, focusing on the participation of all personnel and students, and emphasizing the efficient management of natural resources and the environment to ensure the university is an active part in driving Thai society towards a low-carbon society. The details are as follows:
Designate energy and environmental conservation as an integral part of the university’s administrative policy.
Establish an Energy and Environmental Management Committee and an Energy and Environmental Management Audit Committee for the university.
Hold all executives, personnel, and students responsible for energy and environmental conservation and require their cooperation in adhering to the established measures.
Define appropriate energy and environmental management measures by making them an operational component of all departments at every level.
Set annual energy conservation plans and targets, and organize activities to promote energy and environmental conservation to build awareness among personnel and students for correct participation in conservation.
Study and determine effective measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, pollution, and waste generated from the university’s various activities.
Promote self-development of personnel and stakeholders in environmental management, Green Office standards, and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations concerning energy and environmental conservation.
