On August 16, 2023, Kud Bak District and Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University organized a forum for knowledge exchange and joint planning for integrated safe vegetable production at the local level. The event was held in the multipurpose meeting room of the Kud Bak Subdistrict Municipality Office, Kud Bak District, Sakon Nakhon Province. Participants included representatives from Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, government agencies, civil society, and members of the collective vegetable farming group.
Associate Professor Dr. Wijitra Sujarit and Dr. Suthasinee Kuppatabut led a report on the project’s progress, highlighting the power of collaborative networks in advancing the “Kud Bak Model”—an integrated safe vegetable production area aimed at building food security and sustainability. This project stems from research initiatives addressing poverty issues in Kud Bak District, supported by the Area-Based Development Fund.
The project emphasizes collaborative processes, working directly with target groups and key partners to support and enhance the capabilities of local farmers. This approach minimizes repetition, fosters cooperation, and allows flexibility and continuous improvement, driven by the support of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University and Kud Bak District leadership.
The project aligns with initiatives such as the “One Subdistrict, One Sustainable Village” project, celebrating Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, and the “Integrated Sustainable District for Welfare and Happiness,” which aims to alleviate poverty and improve quality of life sustainably.
