Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, in partnership with the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), has successfully delivered two solar-powered water pump stations in Nan Province. This initiative is part of the project “Promoting the Use of Solar Energy for Water Management in Agriculture for Communities in Nan and Phetchabun,” aimed at enhancing agricultural practices through sustainable energy solutions.
On December 13-14, 2022, a team of researchers from the university visited the target area to gather community context, assess local issues, and identify specific needs for developing appropriate innovations. The handover of the water pump stations took place in Ban Ngob Nuea, Thung Chang District, where the researchers provided training on solar energy, covering operation, maintenance, and basic repairs.
The initiative aims to improve water management, enhance agricultural productivity, and reduce costs for local farmers, promoting collaborative resource management. The project was led by Professor Dr. Tosawat Sitthawan, alongside the research team from Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University. Key stakeholders included Major General Wises Charoensuk from ISOC and local officials such as Mr. Banjong Napanthamsiri, the senior district official, who participated in the handover and provided feedback to ensure the sustainability of the initiative within the community.
