On July 26, 2023, the Language, Arts, and Culture Institute of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University organized a project to develop creative works in performing arts and local culture through knowledge exchange within the community network. The third activity of the project included a seminar and empirical presentation titled “Returning Knowledge to the Community,” held at the Surathutok Conference Room, Building 1.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ubolsin Phothporn, the university’s Vice President, and a report on the project was presented by Dr. Phasutha Komonmalai, Director of the Language, Arts, and Culture Institute. The event brought together cultural network experts, teachers, students, and community members to promote and support the exchange of knowledge regarding local cultural heritage. The aim was to enhance the development of local performing arts and cultural works, and to build knowledge-sharing platforms in communities. The initiative also sought to preserve and create local art and culture in Sakon Nakhon, leading to the development of works that have been registered as intellectual property and to create national recognition for local Thai culture standards.
The program included a lecture on “Developing Creative Performing Arts Works to Elevate Important Festivals in Sakon Nakhon” by Mr. Prasit Kalerram, former advisor to Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University and former director of the Language, Arts, and Culture Institute. The event also featured a performance of the creative cultural piece titled “Witthi Thai Sakon Muan Chuen La Ber” created by the institute. Additionally, participants engaged in a knowledge exchange on developing local cultural performances through the seminar, “Saan Sank Sin Thinsakonnakhon,” to foster the creation of learning platforms within the community, led by experts from the cultural network.
