“Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University (SNRU) participated in the Thailand Research Expo 2025, presenting its research and innovation under the theme “Research for All: Connecting Thailand’s Future through Research and Innovation.” The event, organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), was held from June 16–20, 2025, at the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre, CentralWorld, Bangkok.
This year, SNRU highlighted an outstanding health innovation titled “Safe Step: Health-Tech in Fall Prevention for the Older”, developed by Asst. Prof. Dr.Neeranuch Worathaisong and her team. The project focuses on preventing falls among the elderly through the application of modern technology, and is divided into three core components:
Safe Step 1: Interactive Promotion by Physical Exercise
This component promotes movement and balance through the “Ram-Ploen Dern-Bo-Lom” activity—an engaging traditional dance-based exercise for elderly fall prevention.
Safe Step 2: I Can Self-Screening
This includes a set of intelligent self-assessment tools with user-friendly instructions and the Smart SFE Card for monitoring physical capabilities.
Safe Step 3: Information Monitoring
A digital system that uses sensors and monitoring tools to track and detect fall risks among elderly individuals within the community.
This innovation exemplifies the integration of knowledge across science, technology, and health disciplines to address the challenges of an aging society in a sustainable manner.
The “Safe Step” innovation is on display at Booth DM2 during the Thailand Research Expo 2025, open until June 20, 2025.”
