The Coordination Center for Community-Based Health Services at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University conducted a practical training course on local resource bases, specifically the “6 Local Resource Base Activities,” from October 17 to 20, 2023, at Chamchuri 1 Auditorium, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University. The training opened on October 19, 2023, with Assoc. Prof. Chasarit Janchitprecha, Deputy President, gave the opening remarks. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sombun Chaochaihong, Director of the Coordination Center, provided a report on the event.
The training included lectures and practical sessions led by Ms. Patmawan Rasri, a Level 6 officer from the Royal Household Bureau, alongside three advisors from the project to conserve plant genetic resources under the royal initiative: Mr. Amnat Chanchanachai, Mr. Jarean Tipthong, and Mr. Jaruworn Tipthong. They shared their expertise with 124 participants from 35 local administrative organizations in Nakhon Phanom Province. Participants gained knowledge and understanding of the policies, directions, and objectives related to local resource bases as per the project’s framework. The training covered two main areas:
- Management and Administration
- Operations, which included six activities:
- Activity 1: Protection of local resources
- Activity 2: Survey and collection of local resources
- Activity 3: Planting and maintenance of local resources
- Activity 4: Conservation and utilization of local resources
- Activity 5: Local resource data center
- Activity 6: Support for conservation and development of local resource bases.
Overall, the training aimed to enhance participants’ capabilities in managing and utilizing local resources effectively.
