On August 7, 2023, the department of Thai Language for Communication program at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University held the National Thai Language Day event titled “Beloved Thai Language” in Meeting Room 19212, Building 19. Associate Professor Ratthapol Ritthatham, the Deputy President, opened the event and presented awards to the winners of the Thai language academic skills competitions.
These included competitions for dictation for elementary school students (grades 1-3), local dialect speech for elementary students (grades 4-6), academic quiz competitions for middle school students (grades 1-3), a word search and meaning competition, and a news announcer competition for middle school students (grades 4-6). Many students from various schools showed great interest in participating.
The purpose of this event was to inspire and raise awareness among Thai youth about the importance and value of the Thai language, as well as to encourage cooperation in preserving, promoting, and safeguarding the Thai language, which is a unique and valuable cultural heritage of the nation for future generations.
