Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University (SNRU), established in 1923 as a teacher training college, has evolved significantly to become a comprehensive university that serves as a vital educational institution in Northeastern Thailand. Over the decades, SNRU has expanded its mission from preparing teachers to delivering diverse programs in education, sciences, social sciences, humanities, and technology. Recognized for its dedication to community development, SNRU continues to focus on empowering local communities through accessible education, research, and partnerships that foster sustainable development. In recent years, SNRU has integrated the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its core values and initiatives. Embracing SDGs as a strategic framework, the university has committed to addressing critical areas such as quality education, sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, clean energy, and regional and global development partnerships. SNRU’s approach to sustainability emphasizes community collaboration and innovation, with projects designed to solve real-world challenges that impact the local region and beyond. In the 2024 Impact Rankings, SNRU achieved the following: Placed in the 1001+ group globally out of 2,152 universities and 23rd among Thai institutions.
