On July 4, 2023, the Health and Sanitation Division, Student Development Office, in collaboration with Health Zone 8, organized a workshop aimed at developing the capacity of key personnel to promote mental health awareness among education staff in higher education institutions.
The event was opened by Dr. Ubolsin Phothprom, the Vice President of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, with faculty members and staff participating in the training. Experts from the Mental Health Center 8 were the main speakers for the event, which took place at the Sroy Suwana Conference Room on the third floor of Building 10. The Department of Mental Health plays a leading role in monitoring and providing mental health support to the public. The workshop is part of a larger initiative to promote mental well-being for people of all ages. As part of this initiative, the project “Mental Health Care Network: Moving Towards a High-Quality Thai Society” was signed in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. The project targets all 38 Rajabhat Universities across Thailand, with the aim of ensuring that faculty and staff have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide mental health support to students, fostering positive attitudes toward mental health. This will also lead to better management and prevention of mental health issues in the university setting.
