“On April 28, 2025, the Minister of Culture, accompanied by executive officials, visited Nakhon Phanom Province to monitor the progress in the development of cultural learning centers and tourism sites at Wat Phra That Phanom Woramahawihan—an important national historical monument and a revered spiritual center for people in the Mekong River Basin region. This visit was part of the 2nd off-site official Cabinet meeting of 2025, aimed at promoting the enhancement of historical learning centers and advancing cultural tourism at the international level.
On this occasion, the Nakhon Phanom Provincial Cultural Office, in collaboration with the Institute of Language, Arts, and Culture at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, organized a special exhibition titled “The Legend of Urangatha,” which presented the legend of the construction of Phra That Phanom and its cultural significance that has been preserved for over 2,500 years.

The exhibition was curated by personnel from the Institute of Language, Arts, and Culture, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, including:

This exhibition represents an integrated collaboration between governmental agencies and academic institutions to drive the conservation, continuation, and advancement of historical and cultural knowledge, ensuring its preservation and national recognition.”
