Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University maintains an energy conservation policy that aligns with the Energy Conservation Promotion Act. This policy is integral to the university’s operations and supports both governmental and national initiatives aimed at increasing energy efficiency, reducing energy costs, and mitigating the impacts of global warming. This commitment is crucial for promoting sustainable energy conservation. Several related projects have been approved by the Energy Conservation Promotion Fund and the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE).
These projects involve replacing energy-saving equipment and technologies, reducing energy consumption, and maximizing energy efficiency.
In 2018, the university received funding from the Energy Conservation Promotion Fund under the Energy Block Grant program to install a 325-kilowatt rooftop solar power system, marking the beginning of the renewable energy project.
For the second phase of the renewable energy project, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University has received funding from the Energy Conservation Promotion Fund. The Energy Conservation Promotion Fund (ECPF) is currently implementing a rooftop and floating solar power system project worth 18,900,000 Baht to support sustainable energy management. Project budget: 18,900,000.00 Baht. The 180-kilowatt rooftop solar power generation system will be installed in five buildings: 1. Rajapruek Stadium (Torch Amphitheater), 2. Multi-purpose Physical Education Building and Indoor Sports Center, 3. Office Building, Facilities, and Vehicles, 4. Industrial Engineering and Technology Laboratory, and 5. Sunthorn and Music Building. This project uses 563 320-watt solar panels and eight 25-kilowatt inverters. The rooftop solar power generation system and energy storage system are currently undergoing commissioning. Solar power generation systems can produce an average of approximately 568,690.40 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
