On January 18, 2024, a team of researchers from Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, in collaboration with Akat Amnuai District, organized a stakeholder workshop on the Poverty Alleviation Project in Akat Amnuai District at the District Hall of Akat Amnuai, Sakon Nakhon Province.
The event was presided over by Mr. Suttimes Boonsaenkulthawat, District Chief of Akat Amnuai, who officially opened the stakeholder forum. Representing Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, the project leader, Asst. Prof. Saifon Punhawong, provided an overview of the project’s background. The research team then presented key findings from data collection and problem analysis regarding poverty in Sakon Nakhon Province, particularly in Akat Amnuai District.
The university’s research initiative has been funded by the Program Management Unit for Area-Based Development (PMU-A) to support a comprehensive and precise poverty alleviation strategy in Sakon Nakhon Province. This effort is conducted in collaboration with the Center for SDG Research and Support, Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University.
The workshop aimed to convene stakeholders to co-develop a foresight-based future vision for poverty reduction in the province. Through participatory processes and facilitation tools, the session created a platform for dialogue, mutual learning, consultation, and shared understanding. The goal was to collaboratively envision future strategies to address poverty—starting from the district level and scaling up to provincial-level impact.
