On February 11-12, 2023, the Research and Development Institute of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University organized a workshop on “Ethics in Human Research” as part of the Social Science and Behavioral Research course for the fiscal year 2023. The workshop was opened by Assoc. Prof. Chakrit Chanachitpricha, Acting President of the university, with Assoc. Prof. Kongpop Chamat, Vice President, providing a report on the event.

The workshop aimed to promote an understanding of ethical principles in human research, especially in the fields of social science and behavioral science. The sessions were led by esteemed guest speakers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chakrapan Katchumsaeng, Chair of the Human Research Ethics Committee at Khon Kaen University, and Assoc. Although there is currently no binding law on human and animal research, various guidelines and regulations stipulate that human research must first receive approval from the relevant ethics committees before proceeding, publishing results, or applying for academic positions. The workshop was attended by 150 participants, with 100 general attendees in the Jamjuree 1 Auditorium and 50 committee members in the Student Council Meeting Room, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University.
