On June 2, 2023, the Facilities and Vehicle Department of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University organized a large-scale tree-planting event for World Environment Day as part of the Green Office environmental management standards project. In celebration of World Environment Day on June 5, Associate Professor Chakrit Chanchitpreecha, Acting President of the University, opened the event and participated in planting trees along with university administrators, faculty, and staff.
In light of increasing concerns about environmental issues and the overuse of natural resources, the university’s Facilities and Vehicle Department emphasized sustainable management of natural resources and environmental conservation within the campus. This large-scale tree-planting initiative aimed to instill a conservation mindset and foster environmental responsibility among participants, highlighting the need for everyone to use natural resources wisely and strive for long-term preservation, especially of the immediate environment.
In addition to enhancing the university’s landscape and expanding green areas to create a refreshing and scenic campus, the event encouraged collective responsibility among staff members in protecting the environment. The Sakon Nakhon Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment also supported the initiative by providing 1,600 tree saplings for the planting activity.
