Sakonnakhon Rajabhat University, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Sombun Chaochaikhong, Vice President and Director of the Coordination Center for the Royal Initiative Projects (O.P.S.T.), participated in the 8th Regional Conference and Exhibition on School Botanical Gardens and Local Resource Bases 2024. The event was held from November 30 to December 4, 2024, at Yardpa Auditorium, Suranaree University of Technology, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
The university, together with members from six school botanical gardens and local resource bases under its jurisdiction, collaborated with the O.P.S.T. Coordination Center and the Upper Northeastern Network to organize an exhibition. The presentation included progress reports on project implementation, training sessions, group meetings, and site visits to members of the school botanical gardens and local resource bases within the responsibility area of the SNRU O.P.S.T. Coordination Center.
On November 30, 2024, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony. Sakonnakhon Rajabhat University had the honor of welcoming Her Royal Highness’s visit and presented handwoven bags made from naturally dyed bamboo fibers as a tribute.
Additionally, the university led delegations from educational institutions and local administrative organizations within its service area to receive royal awards, including Level 1 Certificates of Honor and Royal Initiative Project Plaques, awarded to the following four entities: Sakontawapi School, Mueang District, Sakonnakhon Province – Received the Royal Initiative Project Plaque for the School Botanical Garden.
Nakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Na Kae District, Nakhon Phanom Province – Awarded the Level 1 Certificate of Honor for Local Resource Base titled “Certificate of Commitment to Conservation of All Things and All Lives through Consciousness in Local Resource Base Work.” Don Nang Hong Subdistrict Administrative Organization, That Phanom District, Nakhon Phanom Province – Received the Royal Initiative Project Plaque for Local Resource Base.
Ban Kha Municipality, Si Songkhram District, Nakhon Phanom Province – Received the Royal Initiative Project Plaque for Local Resource Base.
This recognition underscores Sakonnakhon Rajabhat University’s commitment to advancing sustainable development and environmental stewardship through royal initiatives in its regional communities.
