The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), has partnered with the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) to leverage research and innovation for promoting sustainable community development. This collaboration aims to enhance the overall quality of life for residents through research and innovation projects dedicated to community development and social improvement in 2022.
On May 19, 2022, Rajabhat Sakon Nakhon University secured funding for an initiative to promote the use of solar energy for effective water management in agriculture, tailored to the communities in Nan and Phetchabun provinces. Professor Dr. Thotsawat Sitanawan, Deputy Director for Research and Innovation, led the research team in surveying water sources and agricultural areas in collaboration with ISOC and local communities.
The meeting took place in Ban Ngop Sub-district, Thung Chang District, Nan Province, with Colonel Chayaphon Hatthasa, Deputy Head of the Coordination Department, ISOC Nan, Mrs. Chanpen Thepchancha, the head of Ban Ngop Nuea village, Mr. Bunklek Thepchancha, the Chairman for Security, along with villagers from Ban Ngop Nuea community enterprise group, and farmers from Ban Ngop Nuea village. Over 30 people actively participated in the survey.
On May 22, 2022, a similar meeting occurred in Napa Sub-district, Mueang District, Phetchabun Province, with Colonel Kamnet Inpinij, Deputy Head of the Mass Affairs Group, ISOC Phetchabun, and representatives from the local community enterprise group, S.P. Farmstay Agro-tourism Community, Farming Culture Tourism Community Network, and Young Smart Farmer, Srakruad Sub-district, Si Thep District, Phetchabun Province. Over 30 people attended this meeting.
