Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University conducted training on Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and Social Return on Investment (SROI) in development projects.

On March 25-26, 2023, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, through the Policy and Planning Division, organized a workshop on Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and Social Return on Investment (SROI) at an intermediate level. The event was held at the Student Council Meeting Room, 3rd floor, Building 20. Assoc. Prof. Chakrit Chanchitphreecha, the Acting President of the university, officiated the opening of the workshop, while Prof. Dr. Tosawat Seetawan, the Vice President, provided the report on the event.

The workshop focused on the concepts and principles of Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and Social Return on Investment (SROI). It included discussions on tools and methods for assessing social impacts and outcomes using integrated approaches and establishing social indicators. Participants learned how to apply SROI tools for research and development projects, as well as how to convert social values into calculations of social returns on investment. The sessions featured expert speaker Mr. Setthaphum Buathong, a researcher from the Pooy Ungphakorn School of Development Studies at Thammasat University (Rangsit Campus). Additionally, the workshop included practical exercises where participants worked in groups to apply the concepts to real project case studies. The aim was to enhance the skills of participants in evaluating social impacts and return on investments in development projects.
