“On 18 December 2024, Sakonnakhon Rajabhat University co-hosted an academic conference titled “Nong Han Wetlands: Lessons Learned from Field Practices”. The event was officially opened by Mr. Weera Ruekwanitchakun, Deputy Governor of Sakon Nakhon Province. An opening welcome was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kongpop Cha-amat, Vice President of the university. The conference featured academic presentations by researchers and scholars from Sakonnakhon Rajabhat University, focusing on scientific data, environmental research, and community-based practices related to the Nong Han Wetland ecosystem. Following the presentations, a panel discussion was held under the theme “The Future of Nong Han Wetlands,” featuring representatives from: The Department of Water Resources The Department of Fisheries The Treasury Department WWF-SIDA CF-Master (Western Forest Complex) The event was organized by the Association for the Promotion of Sustainable River Basin Development and took place at Jamjuree 1 Auditorium, Sakonnakhon Rajabhat University. This conference marked a significant step in fostering multi-sector collaboration and promoting sustainable management of wetland ecosystems through academic exchange and policy dialogue.”
