The Coordinating Center of OTOP Sustainable Development (OpaS) at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University Organizes Meetings for Members of the Botanical Garden and Local Resource Base Groups

The Coordinating Center of OTOP Sustainable Development (OpaS) at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University organized meetings for members of the Botanical Garden group and the Local Resource Base group at the Soi Suwana Meeting Room at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University. The meetings were chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somboon Chaochaihong, Vice President and Director of the Coordinating Center of OpaS at the university.

The meetings were divided into two groups: On May 9–10, 2023, the meeting focused on preparing for the evaluation of schools running botanical garden programs. From May 11–12, 2023, the meeting addressed preparations for evaluating local government organizations running local resource base programs.

Personnel from educational institutions in the upper northeastern region and local government officials who are members of the Local Resource Base group attended the meetings to gain valuable knowledge and guidance on effectively implementing the local resource base program in alignment with OpaS guidelines. In addition to theoretical knowledge, practical training was conducted in the actual field.

The meetings were supported by experts from the Royal Project Conservation of Plant Genetic Resources and staff from the Coordinating Center of OpaS at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University and the Coordinating Center of OpaS at the Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon Campus.
