The Nong Han Center of Excellence, in collaboration with network partners, organizes an academic conference to build cooperation for the conservation of the Nong Han wetland area.

On December 18, 2024, the Nong Han Center of Excellence of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Thailand Office, the Better Delta Sustainable Promotion Association, the Sakon Nakhon Bird and Nature Conservation Club, and the Nong Han Community Network, organized the Nong Han Wetland Academic Conference at Chamchuri 1 Conference Room, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, Mueang District, Sakon Nakhon Province.
The event was presided over by Mr. Weera Rerkwanitkul, Deputy Governor of Sakon Nakhon Province, and was attended by more than 100 participants, including representatives from government agencies, civil society organizations, and communities surrounding Nong Han.
Key topics discussed at the conference included:
▪️ A report on the situation and progress of the project “Strengthening Community Capacity for Sustainable Management and Utilization of the Nong Han Wetland Area” (Leading the Change #1–2), presented by WWF and the Better Delta Sustainable Promotion Association
▪️ A summary of lessons learned from project implementation and recommendations from the Nong Han Community Network
▪️ Strengthening collaboration between agencies and local communities for natural resource management in the Nong Han area
The conference was deemed a success in both disseminating key information to the public and establishing a strong collaborative network to support the sustainable development of the Nong Han wetland area.
