On March 28, 2023, the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, organized the “10th Academic Chemistry Day” at the Creative Activity Room, Building 20. The event was inaugurated by Assoc. Prof. Phermsak Yimin, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, with a report by Dr. Titaya Sriphakdee, the Head of the Chemistry Department. The highlight of the event was a special lecture on research and advancements in science and technology delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwat Nanan, a faculty member from the Department of Chemistry at Khon Kaen University.
The event served as a platform for academic presentations, skill development, and the gathering of academic works from faculty, staff, and students in the Bachelor’s degree programs in Science and Education. The following day, March 29, 2023, the Technology Clinic from the Research and Development Institute, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Technology, organized a community outreach project at Ban Khok Sa-at, Uamjan Subdistrict, Kusumal District, Sakon Nakhon. The project included the “Consultation and Technology Information Project” and the “Using Scientific Innovation for Safety in Daily Life.” The morning session featured research presentations by faculty from Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University on the benefits of essential compounds found in local rice varieties, soil quality improvement for agricultural development, and using scientific innovations to enhance safety in daily life. In the afternoon, a practical session on producing high-quality organic fertilizer from community biomass waste was conducted. This initiative led to the production of 30 tons of high-quality organic fertilizer, valued at over 300,000 baht, which will help reduce agricultural chemical costs and improve the quality of life for local farmers in alignment with the university’s local development strategy.
